Axyz is a neon-soaked expanse, unfolding before you and stretching infinitely as gravity teeters on the edge of control. Geometric landscapes pulse to the rhythm of jungle, breakbeat, and liquid DnB. Each level is a puzzle, a test of perception, a space where gravity is never quite what it seems. In this world, reality is fluid, the ground is never quite where you expect, and movement is the key to unlocking the unknown.
A vapourwave dreamscape fused with the mechanical precision of 90s puzzle classics, the game throws you into a world where movement is your greatest ally, and perspective is your greatest enemy. The goal is simple: navigate the labyrinthine structures, find the key, and reach the exit before time runs out. But nothing is ever that easy. Platforms rotate, pathways dissolve, and gravity itself bends to your will, if you know how to use it.
Each level is a floating puzzle-box, a playground of possibilities. Some routes are obvious, others hidden in plain sight. Mastery comes from understanding the space around you, switching perspectives and adapting as you go. Every step could be a breakthrough, or a dead end.
Gravity is yours to control. Switch it at the right moment to reach impossible ledges, unlock hidden paths, and discover new solutions. There’s always another way, always another angle. The challenge is seeing it before the clock runs out.
The air vibrates with the pulse of deep bass and lush synths. The soundtrack is a love letter to the golden age of electronic music, 90s PS1-era jungle, liquid drum & bass, and breakbeat, with flourishes of shoegaze, dreampop, and retrowave. Every level moves to the music, shaping the experience as much as the game itself.
Scattered throughout each level are five hidden cassette tapes. Some sit in plain sight, others demand a little more ingenuity. Finding them all isn’t essential, but for those who seek the ultimate challenge, they’re the key to unlocking even tougher puzzles and achieving 100% completion.
Mistakes happen. The game lets you rewind time, undoing errors without restarting the entire level. It’s a tool for learning, for pushing boundaries, for perfecting your runs. But what if it could be used for something… more?
With over 100 levels spread across eight visually distinct worlds, the journey is vast, demanding, and endlessly replayable. Each world brings new mechanics, new twists, new ways to break your brain and redefine how you see space.
This is the debut title from Space Lion Studios, a two-person indie team based in Ireland, bringing a fresh vision to the world of puzzle games. Featuring a curated roster of composers, the soundtrack is as much a part of the experience as the game itself.
Axyz isn’t just a game, it’s a trip, a test, a rhythm, a flow. The question isn’t just how you play it. The question is: how do you see it?
