Einstein’s Cats [Game Showcase]

There’s something irresistibly delightful about Einstein’s Cats, the endearing puzzle game from Firebird Games that blends logical deduction with a touch of feline mischief. In this papercraft-inspired world, players are invited to help a variety of fussy, hat-wearing cats find their perfect nap spots by using carefully crafted verbal logic clues. It’s not about rushing, it’s about thinking. Slowly, deliberately, satisfying step by satisfying step.

At first, the puzzles seem straightforward, match a pattern here, a colour there, but soon enough, the game reveals its true nature. Rules begin to layer, twist, and fold in on themselves like origami. One cat likes to be high up, but only in a short box. Another refuses to sit next to that sort of cat, but must be beside its identical twin, unless that twin has a scarf. The delight is in the logic dance, where every clue counts and every solution feels well-earned. It’s tricky, but never unfair, always gently nudging the player towards that lightbulb moment.

And when the puzzles have had their way with your brain, there’s a different kind of reward waiting, the Stickerbook. Every chapter completed unlocks a delightful array of new stickers, cats, backdrops, accessories, and more, to create your own scenes. It’s a relaxing counterbalance to the game’s cerebral core, offering a little creative freedom, and a lot of very cute cats.

The game’s philosophy is simple, there’s no such thing as too many cats. White cats, black cats, gingers, tuxedos, tabbies, calicos, and they all come dressed to impress. Berets, crowns, scarves, fairy wings, even alien antennae, it’s a fashion parade of endless combinations. The odds of spotting a cat that resembles your own are high. And if not? Just keep going. There are plenty more.

The puzzles themselves evolve as you progress. Early levels teach the basics, matching colours and patterns, but before long you’ll be juggling rules about name tags, outfit combinations, and box preferences. It’s a gentle but satisfying curve that makes each new level feel fresh and engaging.

Visually, Einstein’s Cats is a treat. Its handcrafted papercraft style gives the game a warm, tactile quality that complements its cosy tone. Environments shift from leafy greenhouses to bustling cafés and even into the stars, offering over a hundred levels of brain-scratching fun and feline companionship.

Playable on PC / Steam Deck and brimming with feline flair, this is a puzzle game that never takes itself too seriously, but don’t let that fool you. Beneath the adorable cats and delightful hats lies a brain-tickling experience that’s clever, calming, and utterly captivating.

And if, at any point, you find yourself thinking there aren’t enough cats? Just wait. There will be more. There are always more.
