Wonder Library [Game Showcase]

On the enchanting Artist Planet, Wonder Library offers a storytelling adventure where picture books spring to life. Developed by Areumdamda Media Lab, this game takes players on a profound journey of self-discovery, creative exploration, and emotional healing. Awakening in a grand, light-filled library, you find your memories scattered and your only guide is Yuna, a compassionate librarian who helps you navigate both the library’s secrets and the hidden chapters of your past.

The library is more than a backdrop; it is a sanctuary of creativity and comfort. Each of its unique spaces is thoughtfully crafted to inspire awe and serenity. From the cosy picture book Lounge to the vibrant Living Pages Corner, every corner tells a story. Visitors can relax in the Picture Book Cafe, watch films at the Picture Book Theatre, or explore with children in the lively Play Studio. These inviting spaces mirror the library’s dual purpose: a haven for discovery and a source of healing through storytelling.

At its core, the game weaves a deeply emotional narrative that bridges two worlds. On the Artist Planet, a realm of imagination and solace, you find peace in its magical landscapes and meaningful encounters. Meanwhile, fragments of a more turbulent life on Earth emerge, revealing past hardships and unresolved pain. These parallel stories intertwine as memories resurface within the books you explore, creating a layered tale of rediscovery and hope. As your journey unfolds, the library itself evolves, reflecting your inner transformation.

Gameplay enriches this narrative through interactive and thoughtful mechanics. As the library’s caretaker, you’ll manage daily operations, connect with its visitors, and tackle meaningful quests. Core quests reveal the library’s mysteries, while optional healing tasks, just like nurturing plants, uncovering hidden letters, or stacking wish stones, they offer quieter moments of joy and reflection.

At the heart of the experience are over 100 beautifully crafted 3D picture books. Each book unlocks as you progress, transforming reading into an interactive journey. These books are not just stories but vibrant worlds filled with puzzles, hidden details, and opportunities for meaningful interaction. This hands-on storytelling approach ensures every chapter feels personal and emotionally resonant.

As you progress, you can personalise your surroundings, arranging bookshelves, designing cosy spaces, and adding your unique touch to the library. These creative choices deepen your bond with its magical world while fostering a sense of calm and introspection.

The game’s tranquil pacing and heartfelt design create a soothing experience, allowing players to explore themes of resilience and renewal at their own rhythm. Through its emotional depth and imaginative gameplay, Wonder Library conveys a powerful message: healing is a journey, and every step brings light into the darkness.

Areumdamda Media Lab has just recently launched a Kickstarter campaign  to bring this enchanting world to players. Backers will gain early access to the game, experiencing its blend of art and storytelling before its official release. Slated for launch on Steam and Stove Indie, the game will also expand to PlayStation, Xbox, and additional platforms. Localisation in English, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean ensures Wonder Library’s magic reaches a global audience.

Founded in 2021, the studio is committed to creating games that blend art and technology to provide emotional healing. Its global team of ten works to craft innovative experiences that uplift and inspire, exemplified by the studio’s unique approach to heartfelt storytelling and interactive design.
